Residential solar panel cleaning

You paid for a system that produces a certain number of kilowatt-hours. Dirty panels quietly take some of that back. We clean them properly and text you the proof — usually in a single visit.

Why home systems on Oʻahu get dirty fast

Island conditions are hard on panels. Salt spray carries inland further than most people expect. Red dirt and dust settle in the dry months. Vog drifts through and leaves a fine film. Add bird droppings, mango and plumeria pollen, and gecko droppings, and you have a layer that rain alone will not shift.

The part that catches people out: rain does not clean panels. Rain lands, picks up whatever is on the glass, and dries into spots. That is why a system can look rained-on and still be producing well below what it should.

What you get

A full pure-water clean. Deionized water and soft brushes across every panel face. No chemicals, no pressure washing, nothing that threatens your warranty.

Frames and edges cleared. We clean the frame channels and the bottom edge where grime collects and shades the lowest row of cells.

Before-and-after photos. Texted the same day. You see the panels, not just an invoice.

Honest advice. If your panels do not need cleaning yet, we will say so and tell you when to call back.

Most homes: one visit, a few hours

A typical residential array is done in a single visit. You do not need to be home, as long as we can reach the roof safely and there is an outdoor spigot. We work off a fed pole from the gutter line wherever the roof allows, which keeps weight off your panels and off your roof.

How often should you clean?

For most Oʻahu homes, twice a year holds production steady. If you are close to the water, under trees, or near a busy road, quarterly is usually the honest answer. We will look at your roof and recommend a schedule based on what we actually see — not a package we are trying to sell.

Add bird proofing while we are up there

If birds are nesting under your array, cleaning alone will not hold. We can fit galvanized mesh around the perimeter in the same visit, which stops birds and rodents getting underneath and protects the wiring. Read about bird proofing →
